About Dr. Schamber...
I am currently spending my 14th year teaching math at the Middle school after an 8 year stint teaching math, business and economics classes at the high school. Prior to teaching in the Lead-Deadwood School District, I worked with At-Risk Youth through an after-school and summer program affiliated with Black Hills Special Services in both Belle Fourche and Lead-Deadwood. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Education from Black Hills State University in 2000, a Master's Degree in Education from Black Hills State University in 2005, my Specialist in Education Degree from the University of West Florida in 2016, and my Doctorate in Education from the University of West Florida in 2018.
I currently serve on the district Olweus Bullying Prevention Committee, the Technology Committee, and serve as an adviser to the Key Club at the High School, and the Builders Club and Travel Club at the Middle School. I recently worked on the Curation Team for MyOER with the State of SD, and have presented at several conferences across the state and nation. I have taken students to Costa Rica as well as Washington DC and am looking forward to another DC trip in the spring of 2023.
I have 2 dogs, both beagles, who love to take me for walks. I enjoy traveling, reading, theater and volunteer work in my spare time.
